Restaurant review for Tortilla, Clapham Junction

Let’s taco ’bout Tortilla at Clapham Junction; 12 St John’s Hill, next to the overground station.

A small joint which serves out of the world, satisfying Californian-styled Mexican food.

This. So I’m going to be one of those people online who will openly whinge that I have a very recent ex-boyfriend now. He was all sorts of wonderful and blah blah blah, long story short it’s over and I’m heartbroken. But let’s go back to talking about food!

Tacos might not mend your broken heart but boy oh boy does the tasty goodness fill the void. What is it about tacos that hold so much integrity? Is it the simplicity of a wrap holding together a variety of delicious ingredients; a perfect circle, coming together and inviting you to take a bite of the combinations within.

I ordered the carnita pork tacos with a scoop of guacamole and spicy salsa. A serving comes in a trio on what I believe is a piece of crockery actually made for tacos!

They have a range of burritos, nachos, vegetarian options as well as a well-complimented drinks menu consisting from Mexican beer, mojitos and other non-alcoholic beverages.

There is also public information on how sustainable the restaurant is – considering recyclable napkins & cutlery, where and how they obtain their resources and in general their environmental-conscious and ethical contribution to the hospitality industry. I have attached an image below from the interesting facts I read while enjoying my meal:

Recommendation status: highly recommended! As mentioned, the Clapham Junction venue is rather small.. About 7 suitable small tables and a window bench for solos or pairs.
